Scanning is available through Docman Desktop Services which should have been installed when you moved to Docman 10. If you need to install Docman Desktop Services, take a look at the article here.
To scan documents into Docman, navigate to the Capture and Filing area by selecting the Filing icon on the notification and navigation bar. From here, the Scan button is shown on the action panel on the right hand side of the screen. This action starts Docman Desktop Services and will attempt to connect to the scanner. Choose to start the scan using the scanner interface and the pages that are scanned will be shown in Docman Desktop Services.
Each page scanned is shown as a thumbnail (the size of the thumbnails shown can be configured in the settings for Docman Desktop Services). To group pages together into a document they must be selected, the system shows the page numbers it will assign based on your selection.
As is consistent with the layout of Docman 10, the screens work from left to right and actions are shown on the right.
Send to folder
This action will group the pages you have selected together into one document and post them into the folder that is shown in the upload folder drop down menu above the button. If you haven’t made this selection here, it is based on the folder that was selected when you selected the scan option from the website.
This process should be repeated for documents that you wish to send into a folder.
File document
Filing from the Docman Desktop Services application will attempt to file the pages you have grouped as one document and start the process of filing with Intellisense. This process takes a little longer than sending to a folder because the system is trying to match a patient and document properties. If the system can find the patient, the screen will change focus to show the filing summary screen in the Docman 10 website. If not, the possible matches found for the patient will be shown for you to make your selection.
