Task Templates

Task templates are a great way to design tasks according to your organisation’s processes. You can decide which users or groups should receive the task and define priorities and due dates.

You can create task templates by navigating to:

  • Settings > Tasks > Task Templates

Any templates that are already configured are shown in the list view but new templates can be created using the create action at the bottom of the list.

When should this task be available?

You must give each template a name and define when the the task should be available to use based on:

  • The section e.g. should the task only be available for patient documents?
  • Workflow type e.g. is this used in a document review or from within a discussion?
  • Category.  Tasks can be given a category to filter which tasks are shown according to the category of the document review.  This is useful for very large organisations that wish to divide their activities by department or speciality.

TIP

When choosing a name for a task, make sure the name will mean something to the users that will receive the task, the name you enter here is what will be shown on the task card in their inbox.

What type of task should this template create?

The two Task Type options available are; Review Action and Clinical Coding.  Review actions are tasks that are available in response to a document review.  Clinical coding tasks are different, they provide a different set of actions that assist with performing clinical coding.

Task members and other options

More options are available to personalise the tasks that are created.  You can design the task so that the following items can be defined:

  • The users or groups that should receive the task
  • The priority that is shown on the task card
  • The due date that is shown on the task card
  • Any instructions that should be shown when the task card is selected
  • Completion type if the task is sent to more than one user or a group

If you would rather that members, priority and due dates are chosen at the time of using the template, you can mark that preference using the check boxes provided.
