There are two components to the Desktop Services; the application and the service. The application is what we use to connect to your local scanner, connect to clinical system APIs and install the Docman Floating Toolbar. The service element is what we use to update the software.
Installation
Docman Desktop Services can be downloaded from the Apps menu in Docman 10, you will need administrative rights on your machine to be able to install everything.
There will be a series of messages presented when you have chosen to Download Desktop Services:
Choose run.
If you cannot see the run anyway button, look for a more info link and the button should appear.
A progress message should appear in the bottom right of your screen. Once the installation has finished you should be able to see the application logo in your system tray.
Settings
Settings can be accessed through the Docman Desktop Services logo within your system tray.
- Right click on the Docman Desktop Services icon
- Choose Settings
These settings are useful when configuring the floating toolbar and focus preferences. For example, If you’d like Docman Desktop Services to appear first, if you have many applications open, choose the always on top option.
Floating Toolbar
The floating toolbar is installed as part of Docman Desktop Services, there are options in settings to switch this on and off.
- Right click on the Docman Desktop Services icon
- Choose settings
- Show toolbar is within the Options area in the settings screen
