Capture documents from a folder

If you have documents that are stored in a local folder you can upload them to Docman using the ‘capture’ action that is available from the Capture and Filing action panel.

TIP

If you have folders configured in Capture and Filing, make sure that you have the correct folder selected before you choose capture. The files that you add will be stored in the folder that you had selected.

When you have selected this action, you can either drag and drop files from a folder onto the zone outlined with the dashed line.  Or you can click into the zone and this presents the file explorer to choose the files you need.

TIP

You can select all files in windows folder by clicking into the folder, hold the ‘Ctrl’ key down together with the ‘a’ key on your keyboard.

When you have chosen the documents the number to be added is shown in the file capture panel.  When you choose to ‘add files’ they will be uploaded to Docman.

CHECK

By default the limit on upload is 5MB unless your system administrator has altered this value in your system settings. Check the file size shown on the file capture panel to make sure the size is not over the limit if the documents fail to upload.
